Hey lovelies!

In all honesty, I'm not sure if anyone even remembers this mini series I did over on my Instagram and TikTok back in 2023, but for me, it was a time where I could really show off my style and the types of pieces that I gravitated towards.

Granted my style has changed so much over the years, as it does with everyone, and I found that by posting daily outfits for 31 days I was able to somewhat develop my style further.

Little did I know, it would do a whole lot more than that. Let's delve a little deeper:

1. It forced me to be creative with what I had: Often, we get into a rut when putting together an outfit and we resort to buying new clothes just because we're constantly telling ourselves, "I have nothing to wear", which is a total lie. I realised that if I just stopped and looked at my wardrobe, I could definitely find pieces that worked well together.

2. I realised that my style was quite inconsistent: Factors like where I was going, what I was doing, and who I was seeing heavily determined what kind of pieces I ended up wearing. I don't think that I've ever been able to pin down what my style is because when you combine the factors I mentioned before with my mood on the day, I could be anything from girly to tomboy to tomboy femme to business casual, to name but a few! I guess there's beauty in that though.

3. It pushed me to be consistent in posting: I was so proud of this one! I tend to struggle to post if I am not in a great place mentally or when I'm just too busy enjoying life. I distinctly remember being so excited to start this mini challenge because I could finally provide good content after months of feeling 'meh'. Daily content for 31 days straight was a challenge but I loved every second!

4. I created a whole bunch of new outfits: I think this part was the most fun! When I actually took the time to think about the looks that I wanted to create, I ended up wanting to make more of an effort rather than mindlessly shoving clothes on and thinking "that will do". Convenience overrides a lot of things for me and as a consequence my style suffers. With this challenge, I could carefully curate some new looks and use my socials as a lookbook once I had posted my outfit videos.

5. I might have too much of a good thing: It's not hard to take a look at your wardrobe and see what types of pieces you have too much of and for me that is t-shirts. I love graphic t-shirts with a passion, so much so that the lower half of my wardrobe is packed with them! The quantity is high and the quality of them are great but I don't feel like they offer me much variety when it comes to creating an outfit. There are only so many times that you can put t-shirts with jeans, cargo trousers or other types of bottoms before it gets boring. I found that they ended up becoming a roadblock for me and one that I still struggle with on a day to day basis. I am definitely working on finding other tops that I can pair with my staple jeans or trousers to diversify my looks!

Until next time...

Love always, Stephanie

Hey lovelies!!

It's the second part of Fila weekend on my blog and today we have the Fila FX_100 DSX Trainers. This is the pair that I have actually been brave enough to wear out and about and I love them! They are incredibly comfortable, don't require any breaking in and they add a little something to any casual outfit.

The first time I styled these out I wore my black combat trousers, a green crop and a black blazer. The look was smart casual and the shoes definitely helped to balance out the outfit for a nice Chinese takeaway night for a loved one's birthday.

Planning my outfits for a weekend away is always fun but it's even more fun when I feel that pure joy in finding other ways to style my new trainers with other items in my wardrobe. The first outfit that I actually styled with these trainers included a black turtleneck layered with a brown jumper over top, black leggings, a longline coat plus a few extra accessories (scarf and hat) to keep warm when out on a chillier day.

Honestly the possibilities are endless all year round! In Spring and Summer these basic yet classic style trainers can be paired with a dress for a more dressed-down look (as confusing as that sounds haha) or they can be paired with your favourite cosy pieces in Autumn and Winter. Any casual occasion whether that be running errands, catching up with friends or family for coffee at your favourite café or going for a nice stroll around your favourite neighbourhood you'll be set with these trainers!

If you would love to grab yourself a pair, click the link above! Just like the Fila Disruptor II Premium Trainers these are also being reduced to clear on some sites. Don't miss out!

Hey lovelies!

It's Fila weekend on my blog and I can't wait to share my babies with you haha! Honestly, anyone who knows me understands my love for Fila. Somehow they always have the coolest trainers, the coolest collabs (*ahem* BTS) and the coolest style, plus they really have something for everyone!

Today though we will be focusing on the Fila Disruptor II Premium Trainers because they are pure beauties! The moment I saw these I fell in love and that is no exaggeration because they just looked so edgy. I especially loved the overall chunkiness of the shoe and the mini razor-like sole that helped to give it a completely different look to your average pair of trainers.

Admittedly I was worried about the fact that they were white because being my first pair of white trainers has meant that I still haven't been brave enough to wear them out yet unlike the other pair I bought in addition to these. I know that as much as I'd like to keep them pristine and bright white, it's unlikely they'll stay that way for very long unless I clean them after every wear! I promise that they will be worn soon though, I've put it in writing now haha.

In terms of styling these trainers you should have no problem at all - if anything they should help to level up an outfit! My personal go-to look would channel edgy street style by incorporating black combat trousers, a black cropped hoodie, a cross-body bag and these Fila Disruptor II Premium Trainers. Simple but put together at the same time!

If you would love to grab yourself a pair, I'd suggest clicking the link above because they are getting harder to find and are now being reduced to clear on some sites. Don't miss out!

Hey lovelies!

The title of this blog post is well and truly something that is on everybody's lips...well at least those who personally know me and see me on a regular basis! I must say that at this point in my life, there is only one style of jean that I associate myself with and until I have a major life change, I don't see my preference changing any time soon!

My discovery of the Topshop Joni Jeans was by far one of the greatest days of my life. I mean have you ever had that moment where after trying on so many different types of jeans on so many different occasions, you just find a pair that glides over your thighs, sucks you in at the stomach but is actually super comfortable because of the stretchier material? This is what it was like with the Joni Jeans, no lie!

I was always that girl who struggled to find a good pair of jeans because I had hips (still do) and I had thighs that were a little bigger compared to the other girls I knew (again, I still do). In all honesty, going into the changing rooms almost always brought me a lot of sadness and there is no doubt in my mind that I felt a little outcast because of my shape and the fact that jeans were not exactly forgiving on my body.

I must say though that a lot has changed and we now have brands like ASOS and New Look that are manufacturing jeans in a way that incorporates stretchier material and slightly more elasticated waistbands. I think what I appreciate even more about these types of jeans is that even if you lose a bit of weight or gain a bit of weight, which is something that I have always struggled with, they still allow you to be you.

I don't know about any of you reading this but losing or gaining weight can sometimes be a defining factor of how I feel in clothes and losing a bit of weight and fitting into a pair of Topshop jeans made me feel good about myself. I found that they hugged my figure in the right places and even when I had put on some of that weight again, they still highlighted my curves in a relatively flattering way but also kept my stomach in check which is always a must for me!

Starting full time work a couple of years ago and seeing that the dress code was smart casual didn't change things for me. If anything it got me even more excited because as long as I had a work appropriate top then I could still wear those beautiful jeans to my heart's content! Jeans obviously go with any outfit and the "effortless chic work look" would usually consist of my black Joni jeans, a basic white tee, a black blazer and my ankle boots.

I believe that it is all in the way that you style these jeans. You can dress them up or dress them down and they will work for so many different occasions and it is because of their versatility and how comfortable they are that always convinces me to repurchase them for at least the fifth time now. I wear these babies out like nobody's business so I always have to have spares lined up when the current pairs have had their run. Surely I can't be the only one that does this with their favourite items of clothing, I promise I'm not weird!

Let me know in the comment section down below, are you a Joni Jeans lover or prefer other styles more? Get chatting with me!

Shacket Season

Hey lovelies!!

It's happened...I've fallen in love with everything warm, cosy and checked! September entered with a flourish and suddenly I was immersed in what can only be described as shacket, flannel, burnt orange, knitted heaven. I'm not complaining though because as Blogtober fast approaches, I know that I'll be scrambling to find more gorgeous pieces to suit the colder weather that nips at our noses...oops too far, I've headed into Christmas season!

I'm sure that a few of you are confused by the title of today's post, particularly if you're not familiar with the term 'shacket'. I can confirm that we have indeed become so lazy that saying a "shirt style jacket" or a "shirt jacket" takes us far too long to inform others of what we've chosen to adorn ourselves with today. You will however be pleased to know that you don't necessarily have to know the lingo to wear said piece.

In fact, we can skip that whole step because the very best shackets are flying off those in-store and online shelves and making their way into the wardrobes of those don't particularly care to stop to understand the meaning of 'le shacket'. So what are you waiting for? Shop my faves down below and get styling!

Stradivarius Black Chunky Boots

Hey lovelies!!

I just wanted to start off with a quick note to my mum: I know you hate these style of boots and that they make my feet look massive but I promise I can style them really cool and I'll wear them so much!

Phew! Does anyone else have to convince their parents that those bold purchases will actually be good decisions in the long run? Lucky for me I had a pair of black chunky boots years ago and would never take them off because I loved them that much. I eventually had to give them up and throw them out but ever since they've come back into the spotlight, I have been lusting after a new pair and boy did a find good ones!

If like me, you're looking for a sturdy pair of grungy and super edgy black chunky boots, look no further and shop my faves down below!

Blogtober Day Sixteen
Hey lovelies!

I'm not entirely sure how this newfound love has come about but I'm really into it! I guess I've always admired the look of a pair of mum jeans, a simple white t-shirt and a relaxed-style blazer as a pretty cool outfit to wear. I've found that even in a work environment wearing smart black jeans, a white t-shirt and a casual black blazer over top is great way to mesh your own style with that of a more professional environment hence creating the slightly annoying term that is: smart casual.

Harper & Harley may have been the blog to officially set off this sudden appreciation for minimalism. I think I might have just fallen for what Sara Donaldson (H&H blogger) calls her "relaxed, chic black, white and grey philosophy". I found that with her oversized knits, statement shoes and cool classic vibes, you definitely cannot go wrong.

Oversized garments are not exactly my forte and with worries that they will make me look bigger, I do tend to go for more fitted items. What is my forte, however, is wearing black and what screams minimalism like an all black outfit! I just think that it is super flattering plus...black goes with EVERY colour so there's no chance of failure.

Sara Donaldson is my inspiration when it comes to wearing this trend, although for her it may be more of a religion or a way of life! In all seriousness though, her tips and tricks on how to style an outfit to create a look that is so effortlessly classy is why I have put all of my trust in her. I hope that I can master this style that is popping up everywhere and, you never know, there may be some minimalistic outfits making an appearance on my blog...watch this space.

Be sure to let me know your thoughts on this style in the comment section down below, I'd love to hear what you have to say! Are you into the Minimalism trend or do you prefer something a little less neutral?

Blogtober Day Ten
Hey lovelies!

This post is a big one to the extent that I could potentially be opening up a can of worms or maybe revealing something that other people can't see but nevertheless I feel it. I once saw this quote that said: "You are so used to your features, you don't know how beautiful you look to a stranger" and it got me thinking about how harsh we can be about ourselves and the way we look. I have spent years beating myself up about the fact that I have always been a little bigger than the girls I know or the other women I pass in the street and it always sticks at the back of my mind, bugging me every now and again.

You see I am a very observant person which can be great in crucial moments but when you're constantly observing other people and looking at what beautiful features they have and that you don't, it can be a little soul crushing to say the least. I try to do it less and less but when you're on the train and there's nothing else to do but people watch, there's hardly time to escape it!

Bringing your attention back to the original idea behind this post though, some of you may be looking at the title thinking: "maybe beauty is just your blogging area of expertise" but the truth is the reason why my blog seems to showcase more beauty than fashion lately is because I'm just not ready. I truly do not feel that I am in the best physical shape of my life and whilst I'm not asking to have a model figure so that I can feel comfortable creating fashion content, I am wanting to become healthier in order to see mental and physical results that I would be proud to show off.

Personally I don't believe that my body aspirations are linked to any societal norms because firstly I do not agree with them all, nor do I fit in with most of these traditional societal norms and nor do I want to in all honesty. I truly appreciate my body and what it has to offer but when I find myself wanting to shoot outfit photos or do anything fashion related, I end up having THOSE thoughts.

THOSE thoughts being the ones where you doubt your potential and the ones that leave you questioning all that you are - they can be so utterly detrimental to the point where they have the power to put me off from doing something that I could really enjoy! I think that it's fair to say that this feeling is very common in so many individuals and that's a sad fact of life because no one wants to feel less than they actually are. Most of all though, no one wants to feel as though they need to overcompensate or overshadow their "flaws" by showcasing one feature of theirs (e.g. their face) in photos in order to divert away from what they don't like about themself (e.g. their body) but then again, it's all about what you're comfortable with I guess.

Maybe in the near future I will be able to muster up the courage to create fashion content but in the meantime, I would love if you could let me know in the comment section down below if that is something that you would like to see from me! What do you prefer: wishlists or actual photos of me wearing the clothes rather than just photos of the items? Let's get chatting, I want to hear your thoughts!

Blogtober Day Three
Hey lovelies!

Everybody always goes on about the latest trends and I'm not so much sick of it, but then again nor am I uninspired by it. The truth is, this blog is about being yourself and staying true to who you are rather than running off and being just like your style icon or whoever you look up to in today's day and age.

I mean don't get me wrong, I am in no way condemning taking inspiration from any of those people but as with a lot of things, there is a fine line between doing as you say and saying as you do. Fashion is subjective. Fashion is something that should mould itself to you and not the other way around.

Most of all though fashion is about the style you love, and the power it has in making you feel like the coolest person in the room - not that your personality won't get you far in doing this too but this is a completely different matter for a completely different time and wow can I ramble!

So to keep things moving, here are my five personal fashion trends that I'll be supporting this season:

1. Turtlenecks: Black ones specifically. I just find it insane how a simple black turtleneck can turn any outfit from drab to fab, from casual to formal, or from business to comfort - it's that amazing!

2. Loungewear - I am by no means a wear jogging bottoms with perspex heels out and about kind of girl but I am embracing that at-home style that is akin to what we now know as athleisure darling! If there was ever a more unnecessary fashion term that would be it haha!

3. Rusty Orange Shades - I've had it on my nails, I have it in the form of paper bag shorts, I have it in the form of a bralette and I have it in the form of a hairtie scarf, I mean what more could I want?! A jacket I hear you say, I'm on it!

4. A Whole Load Of Lace - Yes you heard that right! Black lace is especially beautiful with its delicacy and intricate detail. I recently purchased a black bodysuit that has an entire low back made of lace and oh my goodness does it have the power to make an otherwise basic item look so much nicer!

5. Denim - I'm a huge black jeans fan the majority of the time so investing in blue denim pieces like a denim dress is a big deal for me as I usually see blue denim as more of a Summer thing but not this year because I've branched out! Watch this space.

With that said, be sure to leave me a comment down below letting me know what trends you'll be supporting for your own style this season, it's going to be a very exciting time!

Blogtober Day Two
Hey lovelies!

So I went back and had a look at the bucketlist that I had created for Autumn last year and I have to say...the number of things that I managed to tick off did not even come to half of the list. Disgraceful I know, I'm disappointed in myself as well don't you worry.

This year I have therefore decided that I am going to make more of a conscious effort to do more and be more this Autumn just by creating a list of things that I would like to do that reflect not only my personality but my passions and what goal/goals I want to accomplish by the time October rolls out and November (AKA Birthday Month) swoops on in! If the Autumn inspired board on my Pinterest is anything to go by then I'm in for a wicked good season!

With all that said, here is a list of 20 things that I'm definitely, most assuredly, hopefully going to try and do this season...I have this in writing so I'm holding myself accountable here haha!

Here goes...

1. Jump up and down in a pile of leaves - always
2. Meet up with an old friend for a date with a hot beverage
3. Get myself a couple of jumpers to snuggle up in on those crisp Autumn days
4. Eat 5 orange things (because orange is Autumnal duh)
5. Wear all the darker Autumn lipsticks
6. Watch all the Autumn episodes of Gilmore Girls
7. Do something Autumnal and out of my comfort zone (not too sure what I mean by this either but I'll figure it out)
8. Sit on a park bench surrounded by nature and the changing colours on the trees
9. Visit a farm, apple orchard or somewhere cute like that
10. Explore some place new even if it's just outside my door
11. Bake an apple pie
12. Pick one Autumn outfit and take photos in it
13. Do yoga and meditate on a rainy day
14. Watch a couple of Halloween movies all cuddled up under some blankets
15. Read a scary book/a thriller
16. Watch a sunrise
17. Surprise a loved one with something Autumnal
18. Try an Autumnal drink
19. Carve a pumpkin
20. Take plenty of photos throughout Autumn!

...and there we have it! Leave me a comment down below letting me in on some ideas that you have for your own Autumn bucketlist, do we have any that are similar?! Let's find out!

DAY TWENTY FOUR
Hey lovelies!

If you're anything like me, you want to try and find something cool and original for Halloween! I get that this might not always be possible but when you find an idea that you really like, one of the best but often worst parts of putting together the costume is finding each little item that you need. This is where I come in! I am here to help cut out the middle man and get you the looks that you may want to create/recreate this Halloween season!

Today's post is centred around The Day of the Dead and whilst this sounds like a spooky concept, the holiday that is celebrated on the first couple of days of November actually features some pretty amazing costumes and makeup that is truly a work of art! The sentiment behind The Day of the Dead is predominantly a happy one as it allows individuals to remember lost loved ones and honour their deaths. Admittedly it sounds slightly morbid and not something I would often talk about on my blog but seeing as both this holiday and Halloween are so close together in dates and are often mixed together, I thought that I would search the online pages of Pretty Little Thing to bring you a beautiful Day of the Dead inspired look just in time to celebrate this day, if you so wish, as well as Halloween!

So without further ado, here is the look...

THE OUTFIT
Simple but very Spanish/Mexican oriented and the fact that it is all black, allows the makeup to do the talking so that your completed look is able to stand out a whole lot more!
From Left: 1. Black Lace Ruffle Detail Maxi Dress, 2. Multi Colour Gem Hoop Earrings, 3. Black Acrylic Bead Tassel Earrings, 4. Gold Diamante Heart Drops, 5. Gold Moon Star Drop Earrings, 6. Serenna Black Lace Up Sandals, 7. Gold Coin Diamante Hoop Earrings *Sold Out* (Similar).
THE FACE
This is where the fun takes place! The Day of the Dead allows you to be creative and bold with your choices, so have a look at the options below and get painting or bejewelling depending on your preference!
From Top Left: 1. Day Of The Dead Halloween Stickers, 2. The Gypsy Shrine Diamond Skull, 3. Halloween Day Of The Dead Palette Makeup, 4. The Gypsy Shrine Iridescent Aura Face Jewel, 5. The Gypsy Shrine Candy Skull Face Jewels, 6. The Gypsy Shrine Teeth Jaw Jewels.
___________________

So beautiful and so creative! I really hope that some of you take a chance and see what Day of the Dead look you're able to create using these stunning pieces from Pretty Little Thing! I know that it's definitely not your most conventional Halloween look but at least it will be more meaningful than a zombie or vampire costume - let me know what you think in the comment section down below!

DAY NINETEEN
Hey lovelies!

Recently I feel as if I've been missing out on all of the Autumn fashion and whilst I can't just go ahead and splurge on it all, I can create a wishlist with all the things that I love since my birthday is getting closer and closer!

So without further ado, here are just 10 of my favourite items from ASOS:

1 // ASOS DESIGN High Waist Mini Skirt In Metallic - I don't know what it was about this look but it just seemed so different and unusual to what I would usually go for! The metallic pink is great for a party as it gives you that extra dazzle factor that we all know and love when we first enter a room!

2 // Pimkie Hooded Faux Fur Coat - Wear a furry blanket outside in public? Yes please! Honestly when I'm cold, all I want to do is wrap up in a blanket and if I can do that in broad daylight on the streets of London then you know that I'll be there front and centre!

3 // Missguided Faux Fur Coat in Red - A faux fur coat in red? What more could I ask for? Just like the black version by Pimkie, this coat will be so handy for those days where it's cold but you still want to look cute and oh so fancy!

4 // Pimkie Check Reversible Scarf - Huge, chunky scarves are my favourite because they always end up being so versatile when it comes to wearing and styling them with your outfits. I love to wear them draping round my neck or bundling them up around my neck for that extra cosy effect!

5 // ASOS DESIGN Soft Shirt - I really want to get into wearing skirts or more structured shorts for the Autumn season and I think that this shirt would be perfect to tuck into them, especially for a work look!

6 // ASOS DESIGN Kally Knitted Over The Knee Boots - I have wanted a pair of these for so long and would love to try them on just to see if they suit my body and height. I feel that with a pair of black jeans, they have the potential to make your legs look much longer, thereby giving you a leaner and taller look!

7 // Dune Effie Black Faux Croc Cross Body Bag - One of the classiest bags that I have seen in a while and I don't know whether that's because of the croc pattern or the style of bag but it could work so well for fancy and casual occasions!

8 // Love Moschino Logo Bag With Heart Pom Poms - Okay I know this one is so expensive but it is just the most gorgeous classic everyday bag that I have ever seen! I think I also love it because it looks like my sister's Michael Kors across body bag that has the exact same texture as this one!

9 // ASOS DESIGN Rural Velvet Ankle Boots - Talk about the Autumn colour palette coming out in full force, these boots are beautiful and would definitely suit a tonal look based on this shade!

10 // ASOS DESIGN Suede Mini Backpack With Ring - I have been into the ring detail on all kinds of items these days, as you might have seen in my Autumn Favourites post where I featured some suede boots with a ring detail on the zip. The same love definitely applies to this backpack which I can so easily use when I want to be handsfree when shopping!

What do you think of these items? Link some of your favourite ASOS items in the comment section down below and offer outfit inspiration for each other, I would love to see what your style is like!
