ASOS Summer Wishlist

From Left: Mini Cami Wrap Dress // Missguided Polka Dot Split Leg Maxi Dress // Parallel Lines Luxe Bodycon Dress.
Hey lovelies!

One of the best things about Summer, well any season really, is all the new clothes you can buy! I can, however, sympathise with those individuals (*ahem*) students/graduates (*ahem*) like me that may not be able to afford new clothes due to a restriction in their monetary funds.

The perfect thing is, you can still look at the new clothes online and not have that feeling of obligation to buy them because the sales assistant has seen you pick up that denim jacket three times, circled the store four times, only to realise that your bank account will say insufficient funds on attempting to purchase said jacket. I don't think any of us want to look like lurking thieves just because we've had that slow realisation that our money should most likely be spent on things of more importance, hence the circling to justify our purchase - we don't need that kind of stress in our life!

So, what's better than avoiding all of this hassle? A Summer wishlist of course, one that we can peruse in our own time, at our own pace and in the comfort of our own home!

Have a look at mine and be sure to let me know in the comment section down below which item you'll be purchasing or keeping your eye on ASOS or better yet, link some of the items on your Summer wishlist - I'd love to see if we have a similar taste in fashion!

Sunset Eyes

Hey lovelies!

I've been loving publishing makeup posts lately as I find it so creative and inspiring to see the way in which artists use the colours in a palette to create their own masterpieces.

My sister Elena, as I've mentioned before, is a freelance makeup artist who does everything from bridal makeup to Halloween makeup and she loves every second. So, if you've got an event coming up or any sort of special occasion or blog photoshoot where you'll be requiring a few hours of professional makeup artistry then be sure to check out her page and get in contact!

The look that you see here is once again the result of my sister's handiwork and judging from the anticipation upon posting a sneak peek to my Twitter page, a lot of you can't wait to see the full reveal! So for those who loved it from the start, here it is!

The theme of the look is "sunset" so you can imagine my excitement when the day of shooting this look came around and offered me an early version of Golden Hour and gave the appearance of the sun setting in just the right place! I honestly wish that I could create this look every single day but I'm afraid that it's a little too glam, although take me to an event or out for a special occasion and I'll be sure to go back to Elena to get this look re-applied to my little ol' face!

Let me know your thoughts on this look in the comment section down below! I've linked all the products used at the end of this post so feel free to have a browse and pick up any products you want to try out! If you choose to recreate this look then be sure to tag both Elena (@elenapylarinosmua) and I (@notvicarious) on Instagram, we would love to see your photos!

Until next time!

XOXO

Fourth of July: Makeup Edition

Hey lovelies!

The Fourth of July is fast approaching and I wanted to offer you a way that you can bring your patriotism to your eye makeup just as much as you'll be bringing it out in your outfit and those decorations that you'll be putting up!

I must admit that I was having a little bit of a struggle trying to come up with ideas for a new Independence Day look that was different from my last one. I am so thankful for Pinterest because, without it, I wouldn't have found this picture from Kelli Marissa and managed to recreate it, only with a couple of minor changes. I absolutely love how it turned out! I felt like an American rockstar with my half-up/half-down hairstyle and this bold eye look that enabled me to smoulder to my heart's content, clearly Vogue needs to hire me now!

Personally, the most important thing, when recreating this look for 4th July, was to incorporate the red, blue and white of the American flag into one area of my face - I chose my eyes. The look created by Kelli ensured that the blue colour took pride of place on the lid and the fiery red shone out from the crease with a hint of purple eyeshadow to allow the colours to blend together more seamlessly. In terms of incorporating the last key colour, however, I chose to use a whiter highlighter to mimic the white colour in the American flag and low and behold the 4th July look was reborn!

Be sure to let me know in the comment section down below what you think of this look! Are you brave enough to try it out? If you do then tag Kelli (Instagram: @kellimarissa) and I (Instagram: @notvicarious) in your recreations as it would be awesome to see the recreation of a recreation to Kelli's original look - that made sense right?! I hope it did!

XOXO
