Makeup: Elena Pylarinos MUA |
Hey lovelies!
I am feeling and looking like Cleopatra with this winged gold eyeshadow and I'm low-key loving it! Prom season is such a weird time of year because you've got this odd need to HAVE to find a date when really going with your friends or rocking up solo and meeting everybody there are also great options!
Winging your eyeshadow has got to be one of the greatest things in the history of makeup...okay, okay that may be an exaggeration but the effect that it has on my eyes is so awesome! I love the way that it gives the illusion that my eyes have been lifted at an angle like a cat eye; Elena Pylarinos MUA used the tape technique to achieve this look.
If you're wondering how to achieve it yourself then grab some normal sticky tape, cut off a small piece (around 3-4 inches long) and apply it at an angle starting from just below the outer corner of your lower lashline and ending near/in the vicinity of the end of your brow. This allows the tape to act as a guard so that you are left with nothing but a super sharp eyeshadow wing once you have removed the tape. All you need to do is repeat these steps for the other eye and you're good to go!
There is so much versatility with this look because it can be recreated with so many different eyeshadow shades so that you're not left confused about what to do with your makeup at the last minute. I love helping you all feel prepared and there is nothing better than having all the details fine tuned so that all you need to think about is enjoying your night!
I would love if you could let me know when your proms are and if you've got any ideas for how you'll look, let's chat about it all! Are you a golden girl or do you love a smokey eye for special occasions? I want to know!

Makeup: Elena Pylarinos MUA |
Hey lovelies!
If you have been following my blog or my Instagram for the last year or so then you would have heard about the fact that my sister, Elena Pylarinos, is a professional freelance makeup artist - I tend to mention it quite a lot, I know!
This time around she was actually inspired by me and the way I do my everyday makeup and so came the opportunity for her to recreate it on me and feature it on her website and social media platforms. Naturally I was thrilled and I always am any time someone compliments my makeup and the way I've applied it but, to a certain extent, the outcome is always a little different when an actual makeup artist does it for you even if they use the same colours and/or products (unless you've seen those 'I went to the worst rated makeup artist in my area' videos on YouTube because you will be in for such a shock).

The
look that you see right here is what you will find me wearing most
days; there are no fake lashes or any funny business. I love a glam look
but sometimes the looks that are quick and easy and that work to make
me look glowy and presentable are the ones that I tend to favour most.
Eyeshadow is a God-send because of its power to change up a look with just one swipe of a brush. The Topshop Chameleon eyeshadow used on me here has got to be one of my top 5 favourite eyeshadows and I am so eternally grateful to my best friend who bought this for my birthday a little while back; she certainly made the right choice!
Looking at the final result of this look, the first thought that comes to mind is: I look like me. I often find that when you go to a makeup artist, you go in for one thing and come out with something completely different! In this case, being able to discuss my own techniques and the products that I liked, in addition to having the room to speak freely to ensure the look was tailored to suit me simply made this more of a success.
The
key thing to remember is that, related or not, going to a makeup artist
should not be another one of those nail salon situations where you feel
too afraid to say that the talons they've given you are not what
you asked for because trust me, I know the awkwardness of having to do
anything like that.
The key perk that I found after having my everyday makeup look professionally applied is just how much more even and smooth my skin looks compared to when I do my own makeup
and for that I am JEALOUS! I managed to learn a thing or two about how I could improve my own techniques though, such as: putting on a liquid primer will actually do my skin the world of good and being stubborn or lazy about having to include another step in my routine is downright silly, has anyone else had this woe?
In life, we never stop learning so having the chance to engage with opportunities that could teach you some new tricks or make your current processes a little more efficient is only good practice. What's more you will love being challenged and nothing is more challenging than someone else trying to edit your makeup routine, even if it is for the better!

Makeup: Elena Pylarinos MUA |
Hey lovelies!
Bold colour play is one of Elena Pylarinos MUA's specialities and I would basically be lost without her expertise and talent! What's more her attention to detail when working on clients is effortless and always makes you feel so at ease regardless of your own personal experience with makeup and the specific requirements that you have.
This look features a blue glitter pigment, once again by Helen É Cosmetics, with a hint of pink-purple flecks that give the eyeshadow a unique twist compared to any other pigment that Elena and I have used in the various looks that she has created on my face before. Regardless of whether you are attending a festival, a prom or any other special occasion, this look will help you get in the mood for a fun night and will seriously make your eye colour pop!
Once again, the rest of the makeup is kept light and neutral to prevent the chaos of having your face painted in a whole range of colours that would most likely detract from the overall vibe that you're trying to give off - we want the eyes to do the talking right?! Exactly! Makeup has such powers and I will always feel forever grateful to the power that blue eyeshadow has in making my features look a little more vibrant!
I would love if you could let me know what you thought of this look in the comment section down below! Did you love it or is it too bold for your liking? We all have different preferences so I won't be offended, let's chat either way!

Hey lovelies!
Spring is almost upon us and I wanted to channel a look that was new and fresh! Pinks and peaches are a must for this time of year as they help to mark the beautiful transition to even brighter colours once Summer rolls around.
The inspiration behind the makeup featured in this post came from the recent London Fashion Week that featured light base makeup and cotton candy tones on the eyes. Thankfully I love both of these things and felt that I could do it justice with my own interpretation so that you too can get inspired for the Spring/Summer months!
If you're wondering whether or not I'm wearing brown eyeliner, the truth is it's actually black eyeliner that was muted and altered to look brown by the peach eyeshadow that I used. This was in no way my intention but I loved the overall effect and thought it went perfectly with the rest of the look. The bubblegum pink lips were the cherry on top of the cake as I felt that the glossy texture gave off that common yet slightly irritating glossy lip you get from lollipops, therefore tying in with the candy aspect without too much stickiness!
If you love this look as much as I do then be sure to leave a comment in the section down below so that we can chat all things Spring and makeup - two of my favourite things!

Hey lovelies!
Date nights may often be viewed as tricky things to prepare for when getting ready and whether you've been together with your partner for your definition of "ages" or are newly starting out, you want to look as good as you can - unless of course it's a couch date which in that case feel free to chuck your hair in a bun and wear your pj's!
There are so many different types of date night looks out there but I have always been in awe of the classic Old Hollywood red lip and black eyeliner combo. I find that it is such an easy look to create and if you've decided to go bare faced throughout the day, you can still have that no makeup feeling in the evening without having to add too much to your face.
The fact that this look consists of just two features means that there is always room to incorporate your own personal preferences for your base makeup, your brows and naturally the rest of your look, including that killer outfit that ties everything together!
Dates are always romantic and so it helps to have a makeup look that complements your smile, and is in tune with how you're feeling when you're with someone. Personally having cat-like eyes and a red lip reflects the romance that I feel when on a dinner date for example but that's definitely not to say that on dates that take place during the day, I choose the same look but rather something more fresh and glowy - it changes all the time!
Feel free to check out the end of this post for the full product description and leave me a message in the comment section down below letting me know what your go-to date night makeup looks like!
XOXO
